Mystery around Duncan MacPherson’s death continues

without comments

Duncan MacPherson “disappeared” in 1989 while on vacation before joining a Scottish team (former Islanders’ prospect, played in the AHL).  His body was found frozen in 2003 and his death was dismissed as an accident.  His parents have spent years trying to get a proper investigation – first to find him, then into his death.   They have finally gotten an member of Parliament to push an inquiry into the mishandling of the investigation or lack thereof and an Austrian journalist wrote an indepth article (his English translation is here)  re: all the missteps and contradictions along the way.   From the article it seems as though there was a coverup of the dangers of the skiing area where MacPherson died though that doesn’t explain the lies regarding the board rental (two conflicting testimonies so one has to be a lie).

Just hope that MacPherson’s parents have managed to continue their lives all this time – it sounds as though so much of their energy/time/funds have been spent on this so that they partially died that day as well.
