Round 1 was held today.  The top pick by the Prince George Cougarswas Martin Marincin who was drafted by the Edmonton Oilers last week (previous gallery).

Igor Bobkov by the London Knights (52nd overall*)

* Some teams passed – I used the overall, actually selected number as opposed to the technical draft spot number.

Not exactly World Cup level play

without comments

My SportsShooter.com profile still had images from Frozen Fenway so I decided to do a quick update by pulling some hockey players+soccer ball shots in honor of the World Cup (Go Germany!). Deliberately looked for the Tommy Cross shot as it was the one I could remember that had compression on the ball and the coach shot, the rest were random (just had to be soccer style rules, no “tips”). Couldn’t find the shot of officials warming up; think I may have tossed them as there was pretty much no light in that hallway.
