Under 18s and the Denver Pioneers
Was hoping to get a gallery finished & related sibling post up today, but looks like I won’t finish until tomorrow so copying a little from yesterday, but substituting the University of Denver for Michigan.
Current members of the USA Hockey National Team Development Program’s Under-18 team that have committed to Denver are:
Jason Zucker (Zucker played 16 games with the U18s last season including the Worlds in Grand Forks)
Nick Shore
NTDP alumni on the Denver Pioneers 2009-10 roster include:
Senior Rhett Rakhshani
and freshmen Adam Murray
Drew Shore (older brother of Nick Shore) – Denver Post article on the four hockey-playing Shore brothers
and William Wrenn.
–
Matt Donovan, another Denver Pioneer freshman, took part in USA Hockey’s Under-20 evaluation camp in August – earlier Matt Donovan gallery. Donovan went to Denver from the Cedar Rapids Roughriders of the USHL.
Siblings (or not) – Michigan/Under 18s
Two current Wolverines who previously played on the Under-18 team have younger brothers relatives on the National Team Development Program’s 2009-2010 Under 18 team. Neither younger brother player has committed to Michigan – Bryan Rust has committed to Notre Dame while Austin Czarnik is afaik currently uncommitted. Note: I was sloppy and screwed up – Austin and Robbie Czarnik are cousins, not brothers (thanks Chris!). Oops!

D
From Ken Daneyko to Mike Brennan, my favorite players are often defensemen, the more D-oriented the better. It didn’t feel right to highlight the high scorers in the earlier post on completing the U20 camp galleries, especially since the US D shut out the Russians in one game and held them to only 1 goal in two others (the Russians scored 6 in Friday’s game, but that’s just being a polite host, right?). So here are the 10 defensemen who took part in the full camp. Posted previously – Cam Fowler and John Moore.
John Carlson (Washington Capitals):
Adam Comrie (Guelph Storm/Florida Panthers):
Matt Donovan (University of Denver/New York Islanders):
Jake Gardiner (University of Wisconsin/Anaheim Ducks):
Nick Leddy (University of Minnesota/Minnesota Wild):
Aaron Ness (University of Minnesota/New York Islanders):
David Warsofsky (Boston University/St. Louis Blues):
Chris Wideman (Miami University/Ottawa Senators):
