Bob McKenzie’s 5 to Watch
Watching TSN while getting stuff together for opening day of the World Juniors tomorrow. McKenzie’s 5 non-Canadians to watch.
5. Adam Larsson
4. Jordan Schroeder (earlier blog gallery)
3. Jacob Markstrom
2. Nikita Filatov
1. Tomas Tatar (earlier blog gallery)
Siblings: Bellamys
Kacey Bellamy was recently named to her first Olympic team while Rob Bellamy now plays for the Adirondack Phantoms.
Chris Kreider
USA Hockey didn’t name a final roster for the Under-20s as they’ve done in the past before gathering, instead naming 30 kids to a preliminary roster. That group played the University of North Dakota Fighting Sioux tonight and won 4-2 (EN) with two power play goals by Boston College Eagle Chris Kreider (link to earlier gallery featuring Kreider at August USA Hockey Lake Placid camp).
Under 18s and the Denver Pioneers
Was hoping to get a gallery finished & related sibling post up today, but looks like I won’t finish until tomorrow so copying a little from yesterday, but substituting the University of Denver for Michigan.
Current members of the USA Hockey National Team Development Program’s Under-18 team that have committed to Denver are:
Jason Zucker (Zucker played 16 games with the U18s last season including the Worlds in Grand Forks)
Nick Shore
NTDP alumni on the Denver Pioneers 2009-10 roster include:
Senior Rhett Rakhshani
and freshmen Adam Murray
Drew Shore (older brother of Nick Shore) – Denver Post article on the four hockey-playing Shore brothers
and William Wrenn.
–
Matt Donovan, another Denver Pioneer freshman, took part in USA Hockey’s Under-20 evaluation camp in August – earlier Matt Donovan gallery. Donovan went to Denver from the Cedar Rapids Roughriders of the USHL.
U18s heading to Michigan
To make up for my error in the previous Michigan/U18s post on brothers Bryan and Matt Rust and cousins (the error: originally listed them as brothers) Austin and Robbie Czarnik, here are the U18s committed to Michigan:
Goalie: Jack Campbell was featured in an earlier blog post.
Forwards: Luke Moffatt and Jacob Fallon who has a brother, but it’s not the former Cats goaltender. Fallon was on suspension from the team during their trip to Boston so I have no images to share.
On D – Kevin Clare and Jon Merrill
Merrill does have a hockey-playing brother, Greg Merrill of the Bay State Breakers (EJHL) who is currently uncommitted:
